Chief Medical Officer

What we’re looking for

We are seeking our first Functional Doctor to join the Akhanda founding team as our Chief Medical Officer. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of functional medicine, with experience in treating women’s health issues. You will play a founding role in designing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans and protocols to support Indian women facing conditions such as infertility, PCOS, thyroid disorders, endometriosis, gut issues, autoimmune disorders, skin issues, and more. 

Key Responsibilities

• Protocol Development: Collaborate with the founding team to design, implement, and refine functional treatment protocols for women’s fertility and health issues.
• Patient Care: Provide 1:1 consultations, assessments, and personalized treatment plans for patients.
• Patient Monitoring: Track patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Research and Education: Stay abreast of the latest research and trends in functional medicine, particularly as they relate to women’s health and fertility. Educate patients and team members on these topics.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nutritionists, therapists, and physical trainers, to provide a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD, DO) 
• Accredited specialization in functional medicine  
• At least 3-5 years of experience in functional medicine, particularly in women’s health.
• Expertise in treating conditions such as PCOS, thyroid disorders, endometriosis, gut issues, autoimmune disorders, and skin issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting.
• Passion for holistic health and a commitment to empowering women through education and personalized care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications in nutrition, integrative medicine, or related fields.
• Experience with digital health platforms and telemedicine.
• Familiarity with the cultural and social aspects of women’s health in India.
